Across generations, people have gazed up at the sky at night - looking to find their place.

We look up because we are looking for a sense of direction, a sense of purpose, and because we want to know who we are and how we belong.

True North was founded on the belief that when we step out of the busyness of life - and into places where we can see the stars again - each of us can rediscover our sense of direction and find our place.

In the summer of 1994, Tom found himself driving a borrowed van filled with with ten kids, a good family friend, a pile of gear, and a whole lot of energy. They climbed, hiked, swam, fished, and canoed - and in those 7 days, life made sense. True North’s first adventure was underway.

Every year, Tom and a team of experienced guides help people unplug and step into adventure across Illinois, Wisconsin, and northern Kentucky.
